Day 02Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your dream of an African Safari becomes a reality this morning after you leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park with packed lunch. Tarangire is the third largest national park in Tanzania. This delightful park, covering an area of 2,600 sq. km was established in 1970, and it is the numerous baobab trees that will initially catch your eye. The Tarangire National Park derives its name from the Tarangire River that rises in the highlands of central Tanzania and winds its way through the game sanctuary. The river irresistibly lures the herds of plains migrants from the parched surrounding area to its shrunken – but permanent – brackish waters during the dry season.
The animals come by thousands from as far north as the shores of Lake Matron, dramatically swelling the resident population with wildebeest, zebra, and eland, elephant, hartebeest, buffalo and fringe-eared Oryx. Tarangire is said to have the highest recorded number of breeding bird species for any habitat in the world. As the rainless days continue the Tarangire pools are clotted with thirsty migrants, and elephants begin to dig for underground streams in the dry riverbed. Dinner and overnight Lake Burunge tented camp
Day 03 Tarangire national park
After breakfast at the camp you will continue with game drive at the park and this day you will have a time to do game drive to the whole park of Tarangire national park where you can enjoy the group of elephant and some of predator on the time of hunting their prey. Then later you will drive back to the Lake burunge tented camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 04 Tarangire national park – manyara national park
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, picking up our lunch boxes at Lake Burunge Tented camp during our refreshment break. A beautiful park, Lake Manyara contains a diverse range of habitats and topographical features ranging from the rift wall, ground water forest, acacia woodlands and open grasslands to the shores of Lake Manyara and the lake itself. Then for overnight. Acacia farm lodge
Day 05 Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, depart for the renowned Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch .Upon arrival; enjoy game viewing in the park en-route to your lodge. Serengeti National Park covering 10,000 square miles is Tanzania’s largest and most famous national park. As the southern part of a vast expanse of plains land shared with Kenya (where it is known as the Masai Mara), the Serengeti supports one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in the world. It is home to dozens of species including antelope, hyena, leopard, giraffe, lion, buffalo and cheetah; but, at certain times of year, the main attraction is the vast numbers of herd animals – primarily zebra and wildebeest – on the move across the plain in a massive migration in search of fresh grass and water. The sight of so many animals, from the air or on the ground, is spectacular. A game drive this afternoon will introduce you to this park, famed throughout the world. Dinner & Overnight at Ndutu Acacia Tented lodge.
Day 06 Serengeti National Park
A full day of excitement awaits you as you depart your camp very early in the morning for game viewing in the park; you have the option of taking a picnic lunch from the camp and do a full day game viewing. Witness the greatest wildlife concentration on earth and the savage rituals of predator and prey acted out before your eyes, this is considered the ultimate safari experience. This journey into the heart of wild and untamed Africa, treat your eyes to stunning views of the park and its endless plains. Overnight Acacia Tented Camp
Day 07 Serengeti National Park
Today you will have to wake up early, at around 05:30 in the morning. With breakfast, depart your lodge for an early game drive in the park to get a chance to spot the early predators as they start off the day, with luck you may encounter a lion, leopard or even cheetah hunting. Return to your lodge for lunch. And rest till 15:00 P.M when you go on another game drive. Alternatively you may enjoy a full day game drive in the remarkable Serengeti with a picnic lunch served mid-day. Dinner & Overnight Acacia Tented Lodge
Day 08 Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha (KIA JRO)
. After two days of exciting game viewing in Serengeti National Park, it’s time to drive to the scenic Ngorongoro Crater enjoying wildlife viewing along the way ,drive to Ngorongoro crater and on arrival descend into the crater for a full day of game viewing. A picnic lunch will be taken on the crater floor. The crater supports up to 25,000 large mammals. Grazers dominate: zebra, wildebeest – accounting for almost half the animals – gazelle, buffalo, eland, hartebeest and wart hog. Giraffe, for example, stay away because there is insufficient food at tree level; top because they compete directly with wildebeest.
An odd feature of the crater elephants is that they are almost exclusively bulls. Breeding herds – comprising large numbers of females and young with a few attendant older males – are probably unable to find sufficient quality food in the crater. Ngorongoro has carnivores in quantity, drawn by the large herds of prey animals. It has the densest population of large predators, mainly lion – about 100 – and more than 400 spotted hyenas, living in eight clans of up to eighty individuals. Both lions and hyenas will scavenge from each other, depending on weight of numbers and of course, hunger.
Then after game drive you will drive back to Arusha. For your flight. And this will be the end of your unforgettable trip in Tanzania.
Karibu tena Tanzania. (Welcome again to Tanzania)
